What is a Connect Group?
We were all designed with a desperate need for community in our hearts. When we look at the book of Genesis in the Bible, we see how God spoke about Adam’s need for a helper, someone to walk alongside him and help him. If we all took a minute to evaluate our lives, we would see that we can’t do it all on our own and that we need help to just live life. They are not a replacement for a relationship with God, but they are there to help each of us grow to more like Jesus. Connect groups consist of 8-12 believers who meet weekly to do life together. These groups are designed to cultivate Christ-centered friendships that encourage, challenge, and focus our lives towards a growing relationship with Jesus.
What is the purpose of a Connect Group?
Growth
God desires for all of us to grow in our relationship with Him. Growth happens best in community. Connect Groups are where growth happens best and where we learn how to tangibly be a disciple of Jesus.
Care
God doesn't want anyone to have to walk through life alone. This is why the church was never intended to be an event to attend but a family to belong to. This is what Connect Groups are all about.
Mission
Jesus' last words to His followers were, "Go and make disciples of all nations." To follow Jesus is to be a missionary. God desires for every believer to be a disciple maker. Connect Groups are a place for you to learn how to do this.
Why should I join a Connect Group?
We were created to live in community. Community protects us from being isolated and vulnerable to the attacks of the enemy. 1 Peter 5:8 tells us that the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. We’ve all seen the Discovery channel special where the antelope has strayed too far. Trust us, not only are Connect Groups a place where you’re protected, but also loved.
