Connect Group Guide

During this time, we want to be wise as a church about how we gather and who we gather with. We believe this is the best way to honor God, our leaders, and love our neighbors. The CDC has advised to cancel all gatherings of 10 for the time being so we will not be able to physically gather together on Sunday or in groups. However, we want to encourage you to participate in some form of community. This may look different for everyone. For some, it will be just a family gathering. For others, it can be family, roommates, close friends, and neighbors. However it looks for you, we want to encourage you to be smart in your specific situation. We also want you to be equipped. Here is a guide to help you lead this time.

Ephesians 3

Summary: In Ephesians, Paul writes a letter that begins with a theological foundation that sets up how that theology should teach us to live practically.

Major Points:

  1. God reveals His plan for Jews and Gentiles. God’s plan is for all people to come together and be one. There is no one higher than another.

  2. God clearly defines the pathway for salvation. The way all people come together is through Christ. No person can come to God without Christ. The playing field is level. No one needs Christ less than the next.

  3. God shows us the result of His plan. The result is a group of people we call a church. It is a group of people to belong to rather than an event to attend. It is a group of people that are saved through Christ and worship Him together.

Question Bank:

  1. How has your week been spiritually? What has God been teaching you this week?

  2. What sins are you struggling with that you need to confess?

  3. Why do you think it is attractive when a church is diverse and welcoming?

  4. Why is it important that we all see our need for Jesus? Why is it against what the Bible teaches to think that someone is good enough to not need Christ?

  5. By looking at your life do you feel like you are on board with God’s church?

  6. What is a way you could challenge yourself to serve God’s church better?

  7. How can you be a part of building God’s church?

  8. How can you be intentional to make God’s church diverse like Heaven will be?
