Vs 2 A Personal Jesus

“Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding.”

A few things this verse shows us.

1.. Jesus wasn’t a recluse! Jesus actually got out and hung out with people. It seems that one of His greatest qualities in Scripture is His presence. He didn’t stay isolated. He didn’t hide from the world. (Like Amish people.) He was a light in the room and therefore he was a joy to be around. 2.. Jesus was invited! He had influence with people. You don’t invite people to a party if you don’t want to be around them. 3.. Jesus cared! Jesus didn’t have to give a helping hand. But Jesus cared enough about this couple's wedding to do something about it to help them.

- What does this passage teach you about Jesus?

- Why is it important that Christians not isolate themselves from the world, but instead be a light in it?

Vs 9 A Miracle of Transformation

“and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine.”

Jesus took dirty water and turned it into purified wine! (a new substance) This is the business that Jesus is all about. The Transformation Business! This is a great picture of Conversion. This is exactly what Jesus does to our lives.

- How does this miracle parallel with 2 Corinthians 5:17?

- What are some ways that Jesus has transformed your life?

- The water Jars that Jesus used for transformation were jars used for religious ceremonial cleansing. What do you think the significance of this is?

Vs 10 A Better wine

“Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.”

Jesus not only turned water into wine, but He also made it top shelf!

Truth! Jesus brings us something better!

- How does Jesus offer us something better than the law in itself?

Jeremiah 31:31-34

Hebrews 10:1-4

A Wedding you don’t want to miss

Rev 19:6-9

The Bible starts with a wedding in the garden and it ends with a wedding with Jesus coming back to get his Bride. (The Church)

This is a wedding that you do not want to miss! If you’re not “in Christ” (saved) then you will miss this greatest wedding of all time. Jesus and His Church together forever! A Wedding that will never come to an end.

- Why do you think Jesus refers to His Church as His Bride? What does that say about His love for His people?

- How is marriage (biblical marriage) a picture of Christ and His Church?

- Are you going to be at the wedding?
