Question bank (If Needed) Don't use every Point/Question Choose some favorites based on your group Specifically!

Vs 1-3 Show us the barrier of religion

Nicodemus was part of the religious elite! Vs 10 Israels teacher!A Member of the Jewish ruling Council. He was very religious. But Jesus looked at Nicodemus and told him he had to be born again! He wasn’t saved!

Q - Why can’t being a good person get you into heaven?

Q - How can religion take our eyes off the gospel instead of fixing them on it?

Vs 19-21 show us the barrier of rebellion

“Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.” The reason we hate the light is because we naturally love darkness at birth! Some rebel against God through their self-righteous obedience and some rebel against God through their selfish disobedience. Both reveal our love for self over our love for God! Both are rebellious. Vs 21 John says that the way to find true healing is to step into the light!

Q - Why is it important that Christians live in the light and is there anything in your life right now that you need to bring into the light?

Vs 3-8 show us the blessing of New Birth (salvation)

Flesh gives birth to flesh but the Spirit gives birth to Spirit.

We are born in Adam (sin) at birth. Vs 14 We are born again in Christ through faith! (Saved) When we put faith in Christ for the forgiveness of our sins we are born again through His Spirit and are born into His family!

Q - what does it mean Flesh gives birth to flesh, but Spirit gives birth to spirit?

Q - what does vs 8 mean? Have you seen this prove true in your life?
