Preschool Family Worship

NEED TO KNOW: 

“Jesus is with me!"   

  • The focus of this family time is to use five easy steps to teach our children the good news of Christmas and why we celebrate this exciting holiday each year. They will also learn how to share this good news with others!
  • Learn the NEED TO KNOW together and say it throughout the week to help your family remember and apply what they have learned.

  • Practice the memory verse together as a family


STEP 1. GATHER!

Intentionally pick a place and time to gather your family together and use this activity to begin Family Worship Night. 

  • Reindeer Says: HOLD your hands like antlers on your head and TELL kids motions to do. Motions could include: make reindeer antlers, clap hands, wiggle fingers, jump up and down, spin around, stomp feet, pat knees, etc. 


STEP 2. WORSHIP!


  • Sing and have fun while worshiping then pray. Take a moment here to thank God for your family and your time together!! 

STEP 3. BIBLE!

An Angel Visits Mary (Luke 1:26-38) 


STEP 4. DISCUSSION! 

Use these questions and points to have a conversation with your children about the Bible story. 

  • Is Jesus with you when you go the gas station with your family? (Yes) 
  • Have you ever been shopping at the mall? (ALLOW responses) When you go shopping, is Jesus with you?(Yes) 
  • What's your favorite candy? (ALLOW responses) When you eat candy, is Jesus with you?(Yes) 
  • Is Jesus with you when you are sick?(Yes) 
  • s Jesus with you when you are at home?(Yes) What if you go to someone else's house for Christmas? Is Jesus with you there? 

SAY: No matter what happens or where we go, Jesus is always with us! Let me hear you say this after me: (PAUSE to allow kids to repeat)

HAVE FUN TOGETHER

  • If you were an elf at the North Pole, what would be your favorite toy to make? 
  • If you were traveling all the way to the North Pole, would you rather play in the snow orfeed the reindeer? 
  • It would be a lot of fun to go to the North Pole together and play in the snow or feed the reindeer! 
  • Today we learned that wherever we go, Jesus is with us! Let me hear you say this after me: (PAUSE to allow kids to repeat)

STEP 5. Pray!

  • Dear God, thank You for loving me so much that You sent Jesus. Help me to always remember that Jesus is with me. I love You! In Jesus' name I pray. Amen
